Climate Adaptation

Climate change adaptation aims to minimize the negative effects of climate change including increased drought, floods, fires, higher temperatures, and pest outbreaks on the landscape, communities and economy. These actions range from planting drought tolerant plants, restoring riparian areas, reconnecting habitats, shading streams to lower water temperatures, building ponds for migrating birds, or restoring coastal wetlands to protect against flooding and minimize erosion.

I contributed to an evaluation of applications to the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Climate Adaptation Fund to assess patterns in geography, species, ecosystems, and strategies of current climate adaptation projects in the U.S.
